Memorial Day

** Click HERE for today's Made Especially for You challenge post! **

Happy Memorial Day! I hope all of you are having a safe and fun three day weekend!

Today's Challenge Me Monday challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is to make a project using the color red plus anything that makes you think of Memorial Day (ie. a flag, military symbol, or poppy).

The girl holding the flag is from the Summer Celebrations cartridge. I used Festive Berries distress ink to ink around the edges of the patterned paper.
The poppy flowers are from this week's sponsor, Wild Orchid Crafts! You can find lots of goodies there, make sure to check them out here

I Salute Your Bravery

This week's challenge at Made Especially For You is to create a card using the specified technique and this week it's paper piercing! I've actually never tried it so I had no stencils, paper piercer, etc so I had to freehand my paper piecing!

The scalloped circle and layer are from the Birthday Bash cartridge (I think it had an extra cut but I just hid it with the Gypsy). I just pierced all around the circle to create that pierced border and just added "accents" on the scallop border.
The cute digi stamp is from Jaded Blossom colored with copics.  The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Freedom Isn't Free stamp set.
The twine is Maraschino from The Twinery. I'm still trying to learn how to make bows with many layers of twine all at once LOL if you have any tutorials/videos PLEASE let me know :-)
Join us HERE. The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to Adams Acres

This cartridge isn't limited to a Princess theme. It also has other great cuts from the dolls to a frog, bird, poodle, unicorn, flowers, sweet treats and other fabulous cuts, including 3D items!

It uses all of the creative features available! It has Layer, Phrase, Gem, Font, Tag, Base, and Base Shadow/Phrase Shadow.

This cartridge is so versatile. You can create anything from cards, scrapbook layouts, to invitations and even 3D items!

The doll on this card is from this cartridge. Keep in mind that the clothes for the dolls is interchangeable! You can play dress up with them!
Here's a mini video to get your imagination flowing on the endless possibilities to use this cartridge!
This cartridge is definitely an oldie, but a goodie!

Kopy Kat

Hello everybody! Over at Krafty Girls we have a fun challenge, Kopy Kat! You have to create a paper craft that is "scraplifted" from someone else that inspires you.

I scraplifted this card from the very talented Nikki from Scrappin' Navy Wife. I cannot say how amazed I am by each one of her projects. I started following her blog when I had just gotten my cricut and continue to visit her for inspiration. .

The card base (welded) and the scissors are from Cricut Everyday. The sentiment is from Pink by Design.
I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

Here's Nikki's original creation, go here for her post on it.

Happy Mother's Day

Hello :) Today is my first post/challenge as a DT member for Made Especially for You! With Mother's Day approaching, the challenge is to create a Mother's Day card and use ribbon! Simple enough!
I decided to do a cricutless card - gasp! I know, I hardly ever do any LOL
This beautiful digi is called Tulip Buggies and it's from Meljen's Designs! The sentiment is from My Creative Time's Mom You Rock set and stamped with Memento Rose Bud ink.
I colored the image with Copics (a little out of the lines, but I'm still practicing hehe) Then I decided to print out the image again, I colored and cut the petals and leaves only. I added pop dots to them and placed them directly above the original to give the flower some dimension. I really hope you can see it on the picture above and below.
The sentiment on the inside is also from MCT's Mom You Rock set. I printed the image two more times and just colored and cut the tulips and that tiny flower.
